Rise and Walk the Land:
In the Footsteps of Jesus
January 4-15, 2021

Nyack College and ATS invite you to join the 2021 Winterim study course to the Holy Land. Our journey is a study of the physical, historical and cultural setting of the land of the Bible in days of the New Testament. We will give particular attention to how these elements influenced and affected the world in which Jesus lived. The study trip is a focus on historical geography, which is an integration of geography, history, archaeology and ancient literature. Preparatory assigned readings and map studies will maximize the student's learning experience during their travel from Dan to Beersheba and beyond. Relevant archaeological, historical, and biblical information will be presented in our field study to integrate the student's learning experience.

Nyack credits available: BIB/HIS/ANT 384, OT 504, NT 504, ARC 501.

  • "Traveling in the "Footsteps of Paul" in Turkey made this tour feel like a fresh Christian blood transfusion. I realize how important it is to take time to explore Old World roots; to visit places were Jesus (in Israel) or the Apostles shared the Good News. The Paul Turkey trip was a natural follow-up to my visit to Israel. The success of this tour for me came from the mix of people who bonded well, and the curiosity and questions shared. Matching this was the superb biblical scholarship of three PHD leaders who seemed to enjoy exploring our questions."
